What is O-Tolidine?
Tolidone, also known as ortho toluidine or diaminodimethylbiphenyl, is a white to slightly red leaf shaped crystal that is soluble in alcohols, ethers, and dilute acids, slightly soluble in water, and has an aniline like odor.
O-Tolidine is mainly used as a dye intermediate. It is also used in the production of naphthol AS-G, direct dark green 2B-NB, direct deep brown B-NM, direct yellow brown ND3G, direct black NBN, and various organic pigments. Zinc powder (or silicon iron powder) is used to reduce o-nitrotoluene to 2,2 ‘- dimethylsymmetric diphenylhydrazine in sodium hydroxide medium, and then rearranged to obtain.
O-Tolidine Uses
O-Tolidine is substantially used as a color intermediate in the product of naphthol AS- G, direct dark green 2B NB, direct deep brown B- NM, direct unheroic brown ND3G, direct black NBN, and colorful organic colors.
