What is Basic Red 2?
Basic Red 2, commonly known as Safranine T, is a red dye that emits fluorescence when exposed to selected wavelengths of light. This type of molecule has a ratio of 2-methylbenzene-1,4-diamine, which is oxidized with o-methylaniline to obtain aniline condensation products. After precipitation and segmented dye purification, they are converted into chlorides.
Bright blue light pink. Dissolved in water, it turns red, and soluble in ethanol, it turns yellow red with fluorescent red. It turns green when exposed to concentrated sulfuric acid and turns red when diluted with blue. Adding sodium hydroxide to the dye solution produces a light brownish red precipitate; Add hydrochloric acid to turn it blue purple. Used in the papermaking industry and coloring manufacturing. It is also used for dyeing acrylic, linen, and silk products.

Basic Red 2 Uses
Alkaline peach red is mainly used for paper coloring and the preparation of lake organic pigments. It can also be used for dyeing acrylic, linen, silk, as well as coloring bamboo and wood products.
